Our Practitioner

Welcome, I’m so glad you found us! My name is Jennifer Currotte, and I am thrilled to be joining the incredible team here at The Physio Clinic as a Certified Ondamed Practitioner.

My mission as a practitioner is to empower you to recognize and overcome the barriers standing in the way of achieving the health and vitality you deserve. I understand firsthand how challenging the journey to optimal health can be and how isolating it can feel at times. In today’s world, it’s increasingly difficult for people to enjoy good health, and many of us find ourselves struggling, unable to obtain the answers or care we so desperately need.

The concept of patient care is something that resonates deeply with me, not just professionally, but personally. In 2004, I graduated from St. Lawrence College with a diploma in Veterinary Technology, excited to embark on a career devoted to helping animals. However, shortly after beginning my work in the field, I began to experience a decline in my health. What started as mild discomfort soon evolved into a chronic degenerative condition, which worsened over time as my career progressed. Over the next 10 to 15 years, I faced numerous health struggles, seeing more than half a dozen specialists in my search for answers. Yet, despite countless appointments and treatments, I only found myself facing more side effects than solutions. My body began to break down, and I was left no closer to the answers I sought. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to step away from my career and focus solely on my health.

In 2015, a motor vehicle accident added further complexity to my situation. However, it also fueled my determination to uncover the missing link in my recovery. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something vital had been overlooked in my treatment. Taking matters into my own hands, I dove into extensive research on ways to improve both my physical and mental health. Despite my efforts, I often found myself discouraged, feeling as though the support I needed was not available. The more I searched for answers, the more frustrated I became, encountering dead ends at every turn. At times, I felt confused, angry, and even depressed. Yet, despite the emotional setbacks, I never lost hope. I knew there had to be more I could do to restore my health, even if the path forward was not immediately clear.

Life has a way of guiding us down difficult roads, and while it would be easy to view these challenges as the worst of experiences, I have come to realize that our greatest struggles often lead to our greatest strengths and a deeper sense of purpose. My journey to recovery led me to explore various medical disciplines, which ultimately brought me the answers I had been searching for. Through my years of reading and learning, I developed a profound interest in holistic and functional medicine. Along the way, I also recognized a significant gap between those who are truly healthy and those experiencing the final stages of disease. Most of us live somewhere in between, struggling with less-than-optimal health, searching for answers that seem elusive.

This realization sparked my belief that there needs to be a better approach to patient care. Over the past 15 years of studying various holistic medicine modalities, I have come to understand that health is multifaceted, and that a one-size-fits-all approach is often not effective. True healing often requires a multi-modal approach, involving co-operation between different healthcare practitioners. My goal is to ensure that every patient feels seen and heard. I believe every body is unique, which is why I approach each case individually. By assessing concerns holistically, we can examine all facets of health—including diet, lifestyle, and emotional or physical traumas—often uncovering the root causes of disease.

Whether a patient is dealing with acute or chronic conditions, or simply seeking to optimize their health, I take a collaborative approach to care. I work alongside you and your primary healthcare practitioner to develop a comprehensive plan that integrates with your current health management strategies, speeding recovery and enhancing overall health.

Through both personal experience and observations of the world around me, I’ve developed a particular interest in cancer care, women’s health, and chronic pain management. I also strongly believe that good nutrition and health are inseparable—one cannot thrive without the other. This conviction has led me to pursue my designation in Holistic Nutrition, and I am eager to incorporate these areas of focus into my practice in the near future.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to introduce Ondamed to the community of Peterborough and I am looking forward joining you on your journey to unlocking and maximizing your full health potential.

Cheers to Good Health!
